A Simple Smile...

I sat at the mamak waiting for my half boiled eggs and my attention was drawn to a toddler. She had curly hair like Little Miss Muffet but they were not blond. Barely two years old, with her new found legs, she was walking, falling, walking and falling. This new acquired skill is fun...she must be thinking... As she got up to take another step, she looked up and caught my eyes. She gave me the most beautiful smile. A smile from a child...so pure...so innocent...
I was overwhelmed. Like the 'happy' button being pushed, I felt all bright and sunny! I smiled at her too and her grin got wider! For a moment, I forgot what I was upset about a few minutes ago... I forgot that my heart was broken by someone I call my friend. I close my eyes and I can still picture her smile. If only I could capture that smile...wait a minute...I did!...It's in my imemory and in my heart... A smile that made my day... a Simple Smile!
